The colour of your teeth is a result of several factors, such as your genetic makeup, how often you are eating and drinking staining foods and drinks, as well as your age. Even if you are following good oral hygiene and cleaning your teeth well, this will not always stop your teeth from picking up stains.

At Onyx Dental, we believe that a beautiful smile should be as white as it can naturally go, and we are able to offer a variety of methods to help you achieve these results.

Each whitening treatment will begin with a FREE initial consultation with our Dental Treatment Coordinator, where we can discuss your goals in detail and find out what you would like your teeth to look to like. We will take photographs of your smile which can be used to explain the possibilities, as well as taking a reading of the initial shade of your teeth.

We will discuss how you can whiten your teeth, and create minor adjustments to the teeth to finish the look, or tailor make more complex treatment plans for a complete smile makeover. Either way, you will be left with a natural looking beautiful smile.

Teeth Whitening Options

At Onyx Dental, we currently offer three types of whitening.

1) Enlighten Power Whitening

Enlighten Power Whitening, is one of the most predictable of the whitening systems available at Onyx Dental. Like with home whitening, you will have custom fit whitening trays and apply whitening agent to them and wear them as prescribed by Dr Gurs Sehmi, every day for 14 days and then on day 15, you will come in to see us again, and have a 1 hour session of power whitening session. The Enlighten system will be able to get your teeth as white as they can naturally go and is one of Dr Gurs Sehmi’s preferred whitening methods.

2) Zoom® Advanced Whitening (Laser Whitening)

Zoom® Advanced Whitening is another of the popular brand name in whitening. It provides quick and effective results and is carried out here at Onyx Dental, taking a total of 90 minutes. After your treatment you will notice an immediate improvement in the colour of your teeth.

With this system, Dr Gurs Sehmi will always recommend a home whitening kit as well, which allows you to deepen the whitening effect, and to maintain the new whiter colour for the long term.

3) Standard Home whitening

This system is more of an entry level system, where custom made whitening trays are made for you. Dr Gurs Sehmi will take a reading of your initial teeth colour and advise you of the prescribed duration that the trays should be worn. After this you will be invited for a review with Dr Gurs Sehmi, where he will be able to assess the change and see if you are happy with the results.
